![]() I had ZERO problems installing Limewire, but when I launch it it starts and gets all the way to the screen telling me about limewire pro. Now If I leave this screen up it will still run, but as soon as it goes away, by either hitting any of 3 buttons or clicking the close button (red X) I get a faint glimpse of the tip window before it crashes. This what is the console output: [JavaAppLauncher] application launched with ppc-thin application stub. Using native application stub instead. ![]() I have the exact same problem; I can get to the ToolTips, but it then disappears. Ick. I tried leaving the tooltips open, but it just crashed after about 30 seconds anyway. Running MacBook Intel 2.0 gHz, OS 10.4.7. Maybe it's an Intel thing? I know a couple of other programs aren't working for the Intels quite yet. EDIT: On a second look, there's no crash log for limewire, but there is one for it in the java crash log... Last edited by eleraama; August 13th, 2006 at 09:01 AM. |

![]() Yep the 1st problem is a java issue. It sounds like yours is too. Recommended is to get the "Offline" standalone Java installer & reinstall. I'm not sure if this is for intel or not: http://www.apple.com/support/downloa...lease4ppc.html as it says ppc. But search the apple site for an appropriate java reinstaller. BTW if it refuses to install (such as a "null" message) then see Receipts folder sample image about removing the previous Java receipt package & then reinstalling. That sample image is for Panther I think but the same principle applies. |

![]() I have tried all that before: Safe Boot / Repair, Removing Receipts, Reinstalling from the Offline installer, all of it. Nothing helped. Enclosed is a full round of logs on the crash, maybe that will help shed some light on it. |

![]() Try this ... set up a new account on your computer & install LW into it. If LW works then you know the problem is with your main account. BTW accounts are easily created & deleted. Use the Accounts section of your system prefs to create a new account. I think now with OS 10.4.7 Java 1.5 is the default. It might also be worth as an experiment swapping it over to Java 1.4.2 for LW to see if you have the same problems. You can do this using using the Java utility Setting up Java 1.5. Invalid memory access of location 00000000 eip=9ba40767 Bus error An unexpected Java error has been detected by HotSpot Virtual Machine: Java VM: Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (1.5.0_06-64 mixed mode, sharing) Bus Error (0xa) at pc=0x9ba40767, pid=496, tid=25169920 I saw a lot of thread_blocked recordings. The impression I get is the resources are maximising attempting to overcome this issue but ends up failing. Something is failing with the Java. Though I'm not sure why Bus error is implied. Unless it's an illegal bus location. Or that's simply where the data loading is failing. I'll need to get some advice from others about this. ![]() Those are java crashes. There is little you can do if reinstalling java updates don't do it. Try to see if deletion of the Limewire preferences folder in Your user/library/preferences helps. If you are adventurous enough, you could download beta java updates from Apple developer connection web site https://connect.apple.com This is not encouraged if you don't know what you are doing though. Ciao
