Limewire Will Not Open/Will Not Reinstall

I have a brand new macbook running the newest version of OSX. I have had limewire on the computer for a few weeks now and it has been running fine. All of a sudden it will not open. I uninstalled it and tried to reinstall it and it will not install. When i try to open it, NOTHING happens. Please help me. Coincidentally, BitPim will not open either (for those that know what it is). PLEASE help me.

Sorry for the late reply. Try a safe boot & repair permissions. ie: reboot whilst holding down SHIFT key until you see option to start in safe mode & choose it. Then once started, go to Utilities folder & open Disk Utility & choose repair permissions (see sample below.) Then reboot normally.

Also delete your LW prefs folder found here: /Users/your_username/Library/Preferences/LimeWire
