Why does Limewire open MacClassic I am running OS 10.3.9 iTunes 7.0.1 Limewire 4.12 Whenever a song has finished downloading it opens up Mac Classic and iTunes. Then when I cancel classic, the song is not loaded into iTunes. THe song is in my shared folder, but not on iTunes. NE1 have any advice |
2 Attachment(s) That's because your default program is iTunes in Classic. You need to change it to iTunes in OSX & then all your problems will be solved. Open your download folder, select one of the audio files. Then use command i to get information. Then change the program that opens it. And choose always open with. The example image below shows 2 techniques. The example is video. But your case you will choose iTunes (OSX) instead for an audio file not a video file. http://www.gnutellaforums.com/attach...open-video.gif This example for Torrents: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/attach...ogram-torr.gif |
ok this may be really stupid, but how do I change it. Everything used to work fine and I never changed B4 |
Thanks! :bangh: |
I edited in a sample image which applies to video files. But you will use an audio file & change it to iTunes (OSX) as the default. And change all option. At least that example shows you how to change your video player default if you ever need to. lol :D ;) |
Still not working I just downloaded a new file and when it was complete it still tried to open classic? I am not an idiot I swear, but this is making me feel like one |
1 Attachment(s) Try again. Choose one audio file. Then go to menu bar, File -> Get information. Then you will see the window shown below. Then choose Open with ... choose iTunes for OSX which will be a much higher version than Classic iTunes (version 4.9). If you have iTunes version 7 for OSX, you'll notice the icon is blue not green. Then after selecting, choose the Change All button. If you don't see the OSX version on the list, then scroll down the window & choose Other. Then direct it to the OSX applications folder & find iTunes for OSX. You "might" need to close LW & re-open for LW to recognise the change. ;) :) Attachment 2917 |
Your last sentance did it. I needed to close LW. Thanks for the help. |
I forgot to mention, you'll need to do this not only with an mp3 file, but also an m4a file also. And perhaps an AIFF file. So then all the main audio formats will be changed to iTunes for osx. ;) Glad to hear it worked. :) |
