Network Connection Issue... Up until a few days ago, LimeWire worked just fine on my iBook G4. I noticed today that on startup, the window asking to upgrade to Pro came up as usual. I pushed the 'Later' key, and at the bottom of the window was the status 'sliding-bar/meter' thing... It said "Locating Peers" as usual on startup, but just continues on and on and on without connecting. There are all red bars at the bottom left, and when I try to select the 'Connect' option from the dropdown menu, it completely freezes up. Status bar freezes, and nothing works except a 'force quit' to shut it down. It also freezes up if I go ahead and try to do a search anyway. What gives? Thanks in advance. |
Hard to say exactly why this is happening. Here are some ideas: --? the router/modem might need a refresh (unplug and restart after a few minutes) --? there are too many incomplete files trying to connect on startup, and this may be swamping the connection. Cleaning out the incomplete folder might work. --? gremlins. Do the OS X "safe boot" (restart the iBook and hold down the shift key). |
