For some reason, I've seen this case once in the French forum. The only solution was to revert to a sub 4.10 LW version. This seems to be Apple Java implementation on 10.3.9 that is faulty thought and since they don't update Java for that OS anymore.... (LW over 4.10 seems to reach a bug in 10.3.9 java implementation). It only happens to a small population of 10.3.9 users and I can't explain it.

Tip: for the minutes you can run LW, looprevil77, serach for "limewire .dmg" There are often versions 4.9 available. Try do install those and run them.

Just to say that I'm ploughing through a selection of installers that LOTR has offered me. 4.8.1 just bounces in the dock and nothing happens. 4.9.37jum20051026230138 won't get past "starting connection". But the night is young! Back soon.

Remarkable! I'm now using 4.9.30 and not only am I downloading, but I'm on Safari typing this message. And I have other applications open. And using them. It's like having a new machine. I can't thank you enough. I can't wait to move onto OS 10.4... oh, 10.5 is out soon... can't wait 'til my job starts so I can afford this!
