![]() Mac PPC dual 2Ghz 3.5Gb ram OS 10.4.8/ Java 1.5 DSL Limewire Pro 4.12.6 Hi. I'm new to this forum. I did a search but can't find the answer to the following. Yesterday I upgraded to 4.12 (from LW 4.9 I think). Since that time I have not been able to get a combined download speeds above 43 KB/s. It doesn't matter the number of files I'm downloading nor the number of hosts of each. Please help. Everything was fine under the previous version of the software. I tried downloading from "http://magnetmix.com/" but LW says: "Need more sources". LW also says "size:?" Also I'm not sure if the general advice in these forums for Windows users applies to us Mac users as well. So I haven't yet tried tossing out the preferences yet. Please advise. Thanks, Craig |

![]() Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? Your isp is verizon correct? That sounds highly suspicious about the magnet link not working for you. Just to be certain, you tried this one right? http://www.magnetmix.com/video.shtml |

![]() Yes, there is a brick wall. Yes, I am using Verizon. I tried a different magnetmix earlier. With this new link you've provided (http://www.magnetmix.com/video.shtml) it is now downloading - though still keeping the combined total to less than 43/KBs -Craig |

![]() Choose nearest location for a speed test & only have your browser open: http://www.t1shopper.com/tools/speedtest/ Tell us what the speed says in kbps or KB/s depending upon which one it gives the speed result in. (kbps = kilo bits per second. KB/s = kilo bytes per second. 8 bits = 1 byte) |

![]() Speed Test Result dslreports.com speed test 2006-11-30 18:19:07 EST: 1499 / 379 (Kbps) (183 / 46.3 KB/sec) Compared to the average of 1718 tests from verizon.net: * download is 65% worse, upload is 63% worse http://www.dslreports.com/im/19420145/22397.png |

![]() Not really. I do greatly suspect your isp is putting all p2p programs on a 2nd tier bandwidth speed. So you might not have any improvements on this. You could always try Phex to see if you have the same problems. It's another gnutella program. Good for finding the rarer files. |

![]() Thanks for all your effort, LoR. It only started happening after I upgraded to 4.12 two days ago. I'm guessing I should uninstall and go back to the previous version --if I can figure out how. What do you think? -Craig |

![]() Before you do, try the beta & see if that's better: http://www.limewire.com/english/content/beta.shtml I presume you have a backup copy of the earlier version dmg file you were using before this. |
