Default Some files won't go away

ok I downloaded some files that I thought I wanted, but then realise I didn't want it. I tried to delete it in the folder, but then I noticed it came right back. Then, I tried to delete it using limewire. this didn't work either.

Is there a way I can get rid of those files, without having me to start over or deleting my current files that are bieng cued?

I haven't heard of that happening with osx. Close LW & then trash them.

That's exactly what I did while it was off but for some reason it came right back.

Wouldn't that sort of info be stored in the download.bat file or whatever that file is?

Hold down option-key whilst emptying the trash. Else reboot.

I'm surprised you didn't receive some kind of error message if you couldn't delete the file. OH ... did you empty the trash after moving the file there?

But then again ... I've heard there may be some type of bug with the beta LW 4.13 in regards to removing files from share that are being shared. That might be related. Also possibly extends back to 4.12 but not sure at this point. It's being looked at by the proggies.

ok well I deleted the file, whre it is t urned to air, then it comes back when limewire started up.

the secure delete may be a good idea, although that wasn't what you were saying, but close. Problem is if the data of the file is in the downloads.bat, it will still come back

Is this happening with OSX or windows? Is your windows on the same machine? How often has this happened on OSX or windows?

Were you able to delete the file in the end?

Angry >DS-Store folder will not trash

I also have the same problem with a .DS-Store folder sitting on my desktop.I can not trash it, I have tried with Limewire open and closed, used option and also secure empty trash. It goes in the trash and when I empty it pop's back up. Restart does not help. This is a real pain in the A--. Running OS X

.DS-Store is supposed to be invisible & is in all osx folders. It contains os information on folder settings. If you remove the . from in front of the file/folder it will become visible. There are utilities around that can make all files & folders visible(/invisible), but normally such invisible files should remain so.
Problem trashing certain files or folders because they're locked? 2 ways in OSX. One is to get info for that item & uncheck the locked option. Another is to empty trash whilst holding down the Option key. A 3rd option is to put the item into a folder & put another item into that folder of the same name so you're replacing it but that doesn't always work. A 4rth option is to start up in another OS, be it OS 9 or another OSX or a startup disk.

Angry .DS-Store

Lord of the Rings. Today I booted up and the damm folder appeared again. I have tried all that you said to try and it is still on my desktop. A second after it goes in the trash it appears again. Any other suggestions. I have no second system to start up in.
Jim
