![]() I would recommend turning your Firewall on. You should always use a firewall when connected to the internet. the portnumber you use for Limewire should also be added for both TCP and UDP, but since your firewall is off that's not why the brick wall is showing. The easiest way to get connected well (If your computer is set up right for using it) would be to enable UPnP in both Limewire and the router. In Limewire Tools-->Options-->Advanced-->Firewall Config and choose Use UPnP Then go in to the router configuration and turn UPnP on. This doesn't always work though. In that case you should use Portforwarding to open the connection for Limewire. Is this your Router (Billion BiPac 5100W) or does the options for configuring it look the same? If so then just follow the instructions there: http://www.portforward.com/english/r...W/Limewire.htm Remember that in Limewire the portnumber for listening port and manual port forward should be the same number. Also if you turn on the firewall in the rules you mentioned above you should use that same number. Also the step where you det your static IP is very important |

![]() Thanks so much for replying. I think I'll end up sleepless soon as well. 1. I turned on Firewall (Systems Prefences > Sharing > Firewall). 2. I selected Gnutella/Limewire from Allow box and pressed edit then Selected "Other" and put 6346 in TCP Port number and UDP Port Number. Description, Gnutella/Limewire. DO I JUST SELECT GNUTELLA/LIMEWIRE, OR DO I SELECT FILE SHARING AS WELL? 3. I got to "Firewall Configure" via "Limewire" > "Preferences" > Advanced.. and slected "Use UPnP" and changed the number in "Listen on Port" to 6346. THAT LINK TOLD ME TO SELECT MANUAL PORT FORWARD. 4. I followed the set=up via the link. Chose Configure iPv4 "Manually" Entered 192.168.1.253 5. Rang TPG and got DNS numbers. Put both 203.12.160.35 203.12.160.36 Okay so I reall have no idea what I'm doing but am perservering but that brick is still there. Help anyone!! |

When setting it up use the DNS server numbers you got from TPG. Press OK and you should be done. In case you are still not getting it to work, please include some more details about your setup. What we like to know is in this thread: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showthread.php?t=62652 |

![]() Hey Sleepless thanks again mate, though I have a Mac OSX 10.4(said 10.4 in original question but I should've been more specific) I am going to call Billion to see if my network settings are right? But if anyone else can tell me what to do, cheers in advance. I'm determined to get rid of the brick. |

![]() Cool. I also asked the question in the Mac OSX 10.4 section but no response. I will do just that post another stating what I've done etc, etc, For what it's worth I just rang Billion who instructed me to do a few things but still "the brick". I will explain in Mac OSX 10.4. Cheers mate. thanks for quick reply.!!!! |
