Default Limewire will not start on my G5

Recently, after months of using Limewire with no problems, I have found Limewire refuses to start. I click on the Limewire symbol on the dock, or click on it in the Applications folder, and it does absolutely nothing. Like another thread I saw, the symbol bounces a few times when clicked on in the dock, but nothing happens even after several minutes. I have viewed a few other threads with similar problems, and the methods described their do not work for me.
I have a Mac G5, version 10.3.9, if that is of any help.

Thank you to anyone who can be of assistance.

Honestly, I do not know. And I do not know how to find out since I cannot open it. However, it would probably be the last version available prior to the latest possible updated version.

I tried, and for one reason or another it failed.

Excuse my ignorance, but how would I find this out?

I have checked the firewall several times... and ... that is it I believe.

And thank you for your help.

I have downloaded the new Java from the following site:

http://www.apple.com/support/downloa...acosx1039.html

It did not appear to work unfortunately, and appears to make no difference

Try the other options listed in the link Only A Hobo left. Trying the 1st one & stopping there if it doesn't work will not get you anywhere. There's a large list of things to try. Also, re: Java, there's more than one Java you can reinstall to see if that fixes things because the overall java installation is made up of many parts & installations. You'd need to check other threads in this & the other OSX forum section to find such suggestions & links. Here's one suggestion to fix the Java http://www.limewire.com/english/cont...faq.shtml#pla4

Okay, thank you. I've just about tried everything now. I think I'll try uninstalling Limewire on my mac and then reinstalling it. I briefly checked in the Limewire website, but can anyone give me directions on how to go about uninstalling and then reinstalling on a mac and not a pc?

Thank you.

Simple, drag & drop the the LW program folder to the trash. You may also need to drag the installimewire.pkg file from the receipts folder to the trash before reinstalling; Receipts folder sample image
