Default Mac OSX Help

This question has been asked before, but none of the answers have helped me. Maybe someone can tell me what I'm doing wrong and help me to get LW up and running on my mac.

I have a G3 iBook running Tiger (10.4.8) and LW 4.12.6 (java 1.5.0_06);
I have created an exception under system preferences for LW using all different ports (6346, 6881, 40000-65000, etc.);
I have a Simmons 4200 DSL modem w/ UPnP enabled;
My internet provider is Windstream (I have not called them to see if they support P2P software);

yet, everytime I sign on to LW, I see a brick wall and one green bar.

I've tried to manually forward the ports on my modem; no difference.
I've tried deleting preferences; still nothing.
I've even uninstalled LW and re-installed; again, nothing.

Can anyone help me?

Default Help

I see that 48 times people have read my message, but no one wants to (or can) help me. Please, if you have a suggestion or if I need to include more system details, let me know. I have LW on my computer at work and it works fine. It's a PC and I simply downloaded the LW app. and poof! it worked. No messing with firewalls/ports/proxies, etc. What's the beef with Mac. Does this app. work on Mac without having to jump through a bunch of hoops? Am I installing it wrong? Any help would be appreciated.

Sometimes posts get missed - it's not intentional

Have a look at post 8 in the thread below...the firewall might be coming from your ISP.

If that's not it, just bump your thread after a day or so & so it will go to the top of the pile again.

Default Thanks

Thanks Birdy for writing me back.

The link you posted was for PC's running XP (windstream had no support for us lowly mac users.) However, I turned off my firewall on my router and for some reason LW started working. I know I did this before, but today it worked. I then went back and turned the firewall back on low. LW stayed connected, my computer ran a little slower (opening files and apps and such) but, I'm connected to LW. Thanks again.
