Default Exporting to my Itunes

Hey out there,
Does anyone know how to export my downloads to my Itunes?
Or import to itunes from limewire?

Same question just reversed.

Thanks

Just figured it out.

Under iTunes "File" menu, select "Add to Library..." and navigate to the MP3(s) stored in the LimeWire "shared" folder. Highlight the MP3 file and click the "Choose" button.

iTunes presents a dialogue warning that the file itself will not be copied, etc and suggests copying it to the "Music" folder. Just click "OK" and the MP3 will show up in your iTunes library.

Anybody know how to easily move MP3s from LimeWire to the "Music" folder under OSX? I'm not too OSX savvy, and would like to create a simple method for my kids.

Update! Turns out it's even easier than I thought. You just double-click on the MP3 once it's downloaded in LimeWire, and the file shows up in the iTunes library. Forget all the steps I listed above... Learning...

If you are running OS 10.1 or above, double clicking on the file in the download window or from your library should open it up in iTunes. This will not work with earlier versions of OSX.

I have tried absolutely all of those options and nothing works...

Double clicking on the file plays the music! Any other options? Why cant we just drag and drop like all other normal programs? I would appreciate your help - but to those of Limewire, I suggest allowing the "drag and drop" option....
Much simpler.
Thanks!!!

Make sure you go up to References in the LimeWire menu and go to player. Then turn off LimeWire's internal player. It'll double click then.

Default Organise your music.

I would suggest organising your music in one location, such as the Music folder in your Home. Then set iTunes to rip all music to that folder, and set LimeWire to download and share all music to that folder, too. This way all your music is in one place, all your applications can find it, and you won't have to worry about importing or exporting between apps.

couldnt you just set the itunes to be your default player for mp3s and it will be placed in it?

To anyone looking for a simple solution to MP3 file management and playing... please read this and see if it sounds useful.

Apple's iTunes is a superb bit of software, but it is designed to be more of a consumer-oriented tool than you may like. That doesn't mean underfeatured, but it does mean it prefers to take control of file management a little more than you may be used to. It doesn't behave quite like a traditional Mac app, it behaves like a new-generation consumer-focused 'iApp'.

If you're happy with it, that's fine: it is, like I said, a very good bit of software.

If however you want something that's more smoothly integrated with the Finder in almost every way, behaves like a regular Mac app, and lets you use tracks from wherever without insisting on trying to maintain a central library - try Audion, from Panic Software: http://www.panic.com/

Yep, it is commercial (but not expensive). No, I'm not from the company.
As far as I'm concerned, it is a more flexible and professionally-oriented MP3 player. We use it in MacUser magazine's office.
