AVI & QuickTime Hey Guys, Having trouble viewing an AVI movie on QuickTime - I have an ibook. Followed this: http://www.thexlab.com/faqs/avidivx.html and now have both 3ivx D4 CODEC and 3ivx DivX Doctor II but still no luck. Help to be as idiot-proof as possible, please :) Cheers, Ping |
Try using VLC media player. It's very reliable and has the codecs built in. I don't have a mac so I'm not much help, but I know VLC will work on it ;). |
Some specifics: The movie appears in my Limewire Library as an AVI in black. There's also a .DS_Store in red. "Error: Error while Doctoring" and "Error = -2048 noMovieFound" appears after I drag and convert the AVI in DivX Doctor II. P. |
Hey 6_pac, I'll give it a go. Cheers! Ping |
OK, 6-pac - so I'm now on this page: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-macosx.html and don't know which to download. I'm in London, if that helps. Did I say this needed to be idiot-proof :) ? Cheers again, Ping |
Hmmm, good question. I don't think it really matters, but my guess would the first one. http://www.videolan.org/mirror.html?...vlc-0.8.6a.dmg |
Thanks. Will keep you posted. |
Hi 6-pac, It's worked a treat - many thanks! P. |
