Default AVI & QuickTime

Hey Guys,

Having trouble viewing an AVI movie on QuickTime - I have an ibook. Followed this: http://www.thexlab.com/faqs/avidivx.html and now have both 3ivx D4 CODEC and 3ivx DivX Doctor II but still no luck.

Help to be as idiot-proof as possible, please

Cheers,

Ping

Try using VLC media player. It's very reliable and has the codecs built in. I don't have a mac so I'm not much help, but I know VLC will work on it .

OK, 6-pac - so I'm now on this page: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-macosx.html and don't know which to download. I'm in London, if that helps.

Did I say this needed to be idiot-proof ?

Cheers again,

Ping

Some specifics:

The movie appears in my Limewire Library as an AVI in black. There's also a .DS_Store in red.

"Error: Error while Doctoring" and "Error = -2048 noMovieFound" appears after I drag and convert the AVI in DivX Doctor II.

Hmmm, good question. I don't think it really matters, but my guess would the first one.
