Question "Browse Host" Button On MACOSX?

I've been attempting to find specific locations, or hosts info on V.2.0 MacOSX, but there is no BROWSE HOST button on my screen. Please let me know if there is another way I might be able to do this, or let me know how to ge the BROWSE HOST button to show up. Thanx!

Exclamation community

Also under the category of "where is this in the Mac OS X version" I have to ask: where is the "Community" tab?? Is there some hidden way to make it appear? Can I somehow set my community in some other way? Thx!

to browse another host type in the search field:
files on 1234.56.78.9:6346
or whatever their IP is - the community tab is gone i think - this version is crappy - it seems there are way less files available and it is more cumbersome to do a lot of stuff (like browse a host) why would they go from a button to having to type the who IP? seems dumb

We took out the browse host option because it did not work 90% of the time. We will likely bring a modified version back that will work almost all of the time in a future release.

We took out the community tab for a similar reason -- it worked no better for finding files of a particular type than a normal search did.

For anyone having trouble getting search results, make sure you're using LimeWire 2.1.1, as it is much better.

So, is there, or is there not a means for browsing a hosts files?

There is no way to browse the files on another host in the current LimeWire, although it should be back in a future version in a much more functional way.

So does the "files on 123.345.789:6346" method work for searching a particular users files, or not? I'm pretty new to this whole Limewire thing, but it seems to me that this particular function is incredibly useful, especially when searching for full albums, and not merely a single song.

If you're using an old version of LimeWire with Browse Host (1.8c or below), this ability is still there. The problem is that it will only work about 10% of the time or so. We're currently re-implementing it so that it will work almost all of the time, but this will not be available until the next major LimeWire release, or possibly the one after that.

We definitely agree that it is a very useful feature, though, and it is high on our list of priorities.
