![]() I have a new iMac Intel computer and I downloaded LimeWire from a site that purported to be LimeWire " http://musicformembers.com/loginv2.asp". It seems to me that that site is a rip-off, but live and learn! My problem is; I tried to Upgrade to pro thru LimeWires site and it was "declined" - but the charge was put on my credit card (temp). All the information was absolutely correct; including address/name on card and all the other stuff. I was told not to re-submit which I complied with. Now what do I do? I want to go pro, but... e mail: ________________________________________ Edited to comply with the House Rules. Do not divulge anyone's personal information in the forum, not even your own. ![]() I did a Google Search for Limewire - Limewire WAS IN the URL I selected. Somehow I was re-directed to that Music thingee. Finally was able to e mail them about the rip-off. Said they would reply within 24 hours - time is about up. I got Limewire installed OK, but my problem remains the same. Limewire charged my CC for Limewire Pro, (a temp charge also) - then in the same breath they tell me the up-grade to Pro was declined - even though there was no descrepancy in any information I submitted; unless I should not have given a nine digit zip code????? |

![]() Btdtcaca There is definately something wrong with your purchase of Limewire from musicformembers, this company has nothing to do with the Limewire Org and, as far as I know, has no right to sell you Limewire Basic, which is free, or Limewire Pro, which only costs $18.88 (and for that you get six months worth of upgrades/updates). I am fairly sure that, as you said, you googled for Limewire, what you don't know is that the top 2 or 3 replies are scam sites. You see, scam sites pay google for the facility of coming first (or within the top 3 or so) of any search query looking music, films or games. And that is how you got caught. Once the bogus charges form musicformembers become permanent don't forgot to dispute those charges because they used dubious techniques, i.e. a false URL, to trap you into thinking you were on the correct site while all the time you were on a scam site. Good Luck UK Bob |

![]() I've never heard that before "that the top 2 or 3 replies are scam sites". I'll certainly look closer in the future. Thanks for the tip! I did finally get a reply from that musicformembers site - They talk out of both sides of their mouth AT THE SAME TIME. Reminds me of Dick Cheney - count your lucky stars that you, being from the UK do not have to put up with the likes of him. One side told me that they would sell me a Virus detector for about one third the going price; then the other side said "We are not in the business of selling anything except Customer Support". Go Figure. |
