Default no connection

I've been posting all over this board since I discovered it yesterday, but not gotten any response yet. (See, I'm impatient and I need my Limewire back!!!) I've used Limewire for months now, never had much of a problem with it until yesterday. Yesterday I found I couldn't connect, so I went to the website to see if there was a problem. There I discovered v2.0 (I'd been using 1.7) and downloaded it, thinking that might be the problem. I like the improvements and I'm sure it will work just fine, but it won't connect either. I've checked out the faq's and done everything they suggest (and yes, I am connected to the net.) I don't have a firewall, my ISP hasn't changed and shouldn't be the problem, I haven't made any changes to the computer or anything else that I can think of. It worked Friday but not Saturday. I still have 1.7 on my desktop too, and it won't connect yet either (but maybe it's because it's using the 2.0 software, BUT it wasn't working even before I downloaded 2.0). Please help me, I'm getting desperate, I NEED MY LIMEWIRE!! Thanks.

I"m using OSX on imac, 56k dial-up modem, limewire version 2.0.2.

This is a similar problem to mine, i was running version 1.7 until my computer crashed and i had to delete everything. I downloaded the new v.2 basic, but i could only get one connection up, so i paid for the full version, and it still only makes one connection, i can hardly find any files. Before on 1.7 i was able to have 8 connections, and plenty of files. I'm using mactella at the mo. but i don't like it, would rather use limewire, but there's next to nothing with only one connection. I'm using OS X on an iMac too, with 512k net connection.

I have the exact same problem, I posted a thread in download problems, about only getting one connection up, whereas I used to get 8 connections up. If I find a solution I will be more than glad to share with the collective here. If anyone else finds a solution first let me know!!! my e-mail is internet_ronin@mac.com
Thanks guys, I owe you one

Question one connection? better than none!

only one connection? how on earth did you manage? I can't get as much as a sign of life, and I payed for the damn thing. Got a nice new iBook running on OS X 10.1.2 and I'm having no luck whatsoever. Do you think the fact I'm on a network could make a difference?

Does anyone know where I can get a step-by-step guide to downloading and connecting Limewire (or Mactella, for that matter, it won't work either) for OS X, that doesn't involve al that messing about with the terminal (I bought my mac because I thought it would be easy to use, not in order to become a computer programmer)?

anyway, if anyone finds a way, let me know...

Default Same deal here

This issue appears to be widespread.

Versions 1.7 and 1.7c worked brilliantly with me. The minute I downloaded for 2.0 OSX, though, I ceased to be able to raise more than one connection. And now, those older versions won't even work in Classic -- they crash upon startup. Now, if I enter so much as a single character in the Search field, LimeWire 2.1 crashes. I don't even have to start the search -- it just crashes. And because something in the Install clearly monkeyed with my older versions, there's no going back and running in Classic anymore. DO NOT DOWNLOAD FOR OS X, FOLKS --there's no undoing the damage.
