![]() Hi! I am a bigg fan of limewire, I recently moved to Mexico to my cousins house and have no computer so I am using her's. It's a Mac OSX and so I downloaded Limewire and it was working perfectly well until a week or so later it decided not to connect again! AW!!! SO, I decided to look for help, in the web page and in this foum, but most threads are for a Windows! (not good for me!!), but the worst part is that I am not very fluent in Mac!! hihi! Ive tried everything I can. I've even deleted LW and started al over again, but it won't help. so if you could help me I would very much appreciate it!! 1. OS version? OSX Version 10.2.8 2. What firewalls you have? 3. How much ram? I says Memory 512 MB (I hope this znswers this question) 4. Hard Disk space available? 5. Connection type? Wireless Cable connection 6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? Dunno 7. Where are you trying to connect from Appartment complex 8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? LW 4.12.11 9. Who is your ISP provider (Internet Service Provider)? Cablevision (in Mexico) 10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? A pop-up opens saying: Could not open the page “http://www3.limewire.com:6346/” because Safari couldn’t connect to the server “www3.limewire.com”. 11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. Nope 12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. New problem 13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface?yes http://www.gnutellaforums.com/attach...1&d=1158099342 14. For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? Last edited by Marge Ippisch; May 26th, 2007 at 05:34 PM. |

![]() From what I can see from the info you have supplied, it's more than likely your ISP that is stopping you from connecting especially because the test page didn't work.... http://www.gnutellaforums.com/241505-post4.html

![]() You can't really, but some lucky people have had some luck changing their port and listen numbers... Try this In Limewire go to Tools > Options > Advanced > Firewall... Then change from UPnP to manual port forward and enter 64049, then change the listen port number to 64049 and select apply...Restart your comp....Fingers crossed that may help... From what this link tells me, CableVision Mexico only shape during certain hours of the day..Try calling them and see if you can find what times that would be... ![]() Bad ISPs - AzureusWiki
