HELP!: limewire crashes upon opening

The first time I loaded limewire, a window shows up asking me to upgrade to Limewire Pro. When I close that window and in 5 seconds, Limewire shuts down and a window pops up, prompting me to reopen Limewire or send a report to Apple. I then downloaded the new LimeWire BETA and tried again but the same problem came up.
I am using a MacBook Pro with Mac OS X Tiger and Java Version 1.5. I really need help!

Just as well I have my glasses on lmao.

See http://www.gnutellaforums.com/genera...arting-up.html & see if it helps.

How much ram do you have? How much spare HDD space?

Start Up Crash

I have a 2GB RAM & 20GB Free HD Space. The version before the New Beta Version had the same problem. I uninstalled both versions by permanently deleting it and reinstalling it but the same problem persisted.

THANKS FOR HELPING

What version of OS X?
You have OS X version 10.4.9?
There have been numerous updates (to include Java patches).
Then repair permissions, then re-start.
Limewire runs just fine on this iMac (Intel; OS X 10.4.9).

You may want to delete your previous 'preference' file and see if that changes things.
This file can be found in you 'user' library>preferences>com.limegroup.gnutella.plist.
Just deleting the Limewire application doesn't delete all the files. Unfortunately OS X scatters files all over...
I also recommend acquiring a system utility like 'DiskWarrior' to fix any problems with OS X.
After deleting the 'preference' file, try installing an older version of 'Limewire', and make sure it's the one for 'Intel Macs' (Universal).

Actually the main LW prefs folder is found here: /Users/your_username/Library/Preferences/LimeWire

One option is to reinstall Java using the Offline Standalone Java installer from the apple site. There's sometimes installation issues with Java.
