Default Trouble connecting with new Mac -- please help!

Hi, hope someone can help me here! I'm having trouble connecting: it just keeps attempting but I never get there. Let me preface by saying that my PC also on this network connects fine and hasn't had a problem. Thanks in advance for any help and let me know if any further info would be of help!

1.OS version? (eg: Windows 98) OSX 10.4.9

2.What firewalls you have? I know I have the built in Mac firewall but I followed the instructions and specifically opened port 14307 as both TCP & UDP. Not sure of other Firewalls.

3.How much ram? Not sure, it's a new Imac

4.Hard Disk space available? 1GB

5.Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) DSL

6.Modem & router brand name & model numbers? Speedstream 5100

7.Where are you trying to connect from (house, appartment complex, school, student accomodation, work, etc.)? Work

8.What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version. Limewire 4.12.11 & Java 1.5.0_07

9.Who is your ISP (Internet Service Provider)? AT&T

10.Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? Bold text read “ Your test worked!!”

11.Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. Sharing with other computers in the office. We are on a wired network.

12.Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. 1st try on this new computer

13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? Yes

14.For those using a modem/router, how is your modem/router set up...are you port forwarding or is UPnP enabled? Not sure on this

15.What security programs are you using (antivirus etc)? Some people might not be aware that their security suite includes a firewall. None

16. What country are you living in? Sometimes there are ISPs with the same name in more than one country (eg Clearwire in the USA & also in Ireland). US

Try turning your OSX firewall off temporarily & see if it connects. If not, then it might be blocked via the work network. Something you will probably have little control over. You could try connecting thru a port such as between 49152 - 65535

Thanks for trying to help on this. I actually got it to connect by using port 26000. My Azureus was working so I checked what port it was using and it was 27000 so I tried that with Limewire and it worked fine -- I then changed Az back and assigned the similar port to LW. So far so good.

Are port numbers different even if they are only off by a single digit? For example, can you have one thing assigned to use 26001 and another assigned to 26000 and those programs be using two completely separate ports as not to interfere with each other?

Again, thanks for the response!
