![]() Hi I'm running limewire on a MAC OSX when I open limewire, it starts correctly, but when it gets to the window that tells you to get the pro version and you hit "later", it automatically shuts down. I deleted limewire's folder and re-instaled it but it still not working... When I run limewire in a PC, it doesn't work... actually when limewire is executing windows gets blocked it just stops working, but when i shut down limewire, windows starts working again... Anyone knows how to fix this problem??? Thanks |

![]() I am running limewire (current version) on a 3rd gen macbook (1gig ram, 2ghz, about 30 gigs left on hard drive) limewire has been working fine for about 3 weeks, but this morning, when i tried to open it, it would open, then i would click the "later" button on the window asking if i wanted to download pro. then limewire would just close immediately. i tried reinstalling the software, deleting the prefs folder out of the library, restarting my macbook, etc. The same problem. I did a google search on the issue and it turns out tons of mac users are having the same problem. Im going to try and install a previous version of limewire and see if it does the same thing. Ill keep you posted. in the meantime.... can someone HELP!!! im DESPERATE!!! |

![]() 1. Tip: Purge the Downloads Queue! (click on blue link) so it will decrease drag on LW when opening. 2. I have no idea which version OSX you are using, either of you. It makes a big difference. Java is generally the issue. As for your pc problem, try changing your version of Java; ie: remove all previous versions & reinstall either Java 1.5 or 1.6. Also delete the LW prefs folder. |

![]() I see that these particular posts are very old. However, I have had this same problem with Limewire - shutting down - not at the "upgrade to Pro", but at the "Limewire Tips" window??? After trashing all related files and reinstalling several times and frustrated, I went deeper into my sweet Dual 1.8 GHz PowerPC G5 (Mac OS X 10.5.5) and found threads or scripts that specifically instruct Limewire to "shut down". I know very little about internal workings of a computer (graphic designer by trade). However, this is a big 'ol red flag and logical assessment - don't you think??? Hey, there is written bugs that instruct Limewire to "shut down". I have concluded that I need bug remover information . . . I found that this bug got it's way into my computer through Limewire, which causes problems with Limewire (strange). It seems that these bugs are designed to irritate the hell out of anyone who might use this program. Any qualified Limewire bug exterminators out there??? |
