the <preferences> tab on the limewire pull down menu is useless.?, An update button would also be nice. I cant even check what version im running.?

I'm not sure what tab you're referring to on the LimeWire pull down menu. Can you be more specific? Our pull-down menus don't have any tabs, unless I'm going crazy. We will likely add an update option in the menus at some point soon.

You can see what version of LimeWire you're running the Help>>About window.

tab? sorry don't know why said that, under file, preferences is always dimmed (not functional) and thanks for the help identifying version

You are very welcome. I'm still a bit confused about the preferences question, though. We don't have any preferences option under the file menu, although there is an "Options..." menu item under the Tools menu. Is that what you're referring to? Are you using OSX??
