Limewire will NOT connect, whats wrong?

I am running Mac OSX 10.2.8 and using Limewire 4.8, and just intaleed it, but when I open it, it will not connect. Am I doing something wrong or is this not the version i should be using? Would appreciate any and all help . .

- Is your Java update ?
- Do you have a Firewall ? Try to stop it (System Pref.>Sharing>Firewall)
- Can also change or write more port for Gnutella/Limewire.
