LW Pro/OS X 10.4.10 Will Not Open

Hi,
Computer illiterate but great with the software so, please be gentle!
Mac Intel OS X 10.4.10
1Gb ram 250Gb HD memory free
Toucan provider
Updated Java and have set up Sharing as requested
Ran Basic LW successfully until I bought Pro.
PROBLEM:-
Downloaded and installed OK but when opening LW Pro 4.14 the instal box gets to 62% and stops.
Basic pro ran without a problem and have dumped LW bits and re-installed both Basic and Pro (not together) but the problem remains.
I am not technically minded but I am competent on a Mac.
Acquisition works perfectly but is not as good as LW.
Help please and will be eternally grateful.
Also, migrating to TalkTalk fom Toucan and am worried about P2P restrictions mentioned in the Forum. Shall I cancel while there's time?

Hi how is every one my limewire only the first bar is hilighted green and a wall iam using an intel os mac any tips on how to start downloading files

Sorry for the late response.

I'd avoid TalkTalk if you can. Else only use LW at off peak times.

Try deleting your LW prefs folder found here: /Users/your_username/Library/Preferences/LimeWire

If still problems then try LimeWire cvs builds (4.13.4jum490) & get a nightly build.

Other things to try or be aware of:

1. Setting up Java 1.5

2. SAFE Boot & Repair Permissions which should be done after any installations or updates.

3. Don't share more than about 1,500 files. If they are mostly video files then reduce it a little more.

4. Tip: Purge the Downloads Queue! (click on blue link)

Hi,
Many thanks for replying.
Tried all you suggested, no change. When I tried CVS BUILDS went straight to Acquisition, which works perfectly.
Still freezes at exactly 62% when trying to load no matter how many times I do a clean dump and/or re-load Pro or Basic.
Have tried LW support over 20 times now and they just do not want to know, not even once bothering to reply. No wonder they do not offer a refund policy ! ! What a waste of money. I only paid because I thought I was helping a genuine bunch of guys.
Anyway, again my thanks.
