![]() willie8 with Dial up patience is best. It can sometimes take ages to connect. Make sure you have Dial up set in your LW prefs for connection type. fixitman we need more details; System details - help us to help you (click on blue link) |

![]() It's been awhile since I used it and whenever I do this, it won't start. I can't remember what I did in the past. 1) I have un-installed Norton long ago....never liked it. At computer start up I get a couple error messages that basically it is missing files to load Norton. I have to do a restore with CD's I had sent to me to get that portion of this computer. Restores a such a headache when you have a lot of files on your PC. 2) I have McAfee, but the firewall is not installed It seems I only have Windows Firewall and Limewire is an exception and I tried re-adding it also. I used the free version sucessfully for a few days and upgrade to Pro last night. Now I can't seem to connect. 13. ![]() Sorry for the very late response. ![]() Try these things: 1. Steps 1, 2 & 3 here Fixes for Limewire (click on blue link) 2. (a) Problems with the search, __ (b) Hostiles List Be sure about the McAffee firewall because if it is running it will cause problems. Also try just temporarily connecting without the XP firewall turned on. If it works, then delete the firewall rule you set for LW & redo it. User Cant Connect - LimeWire |
