I was using 1.7 no problem, then I attempted to "upgrade" to 2.x (I'm not quite sure of the version) and it wouldn't download anything. Uninstalled, went back to 1.7, now it is dead! The searches bring back plenty of results, but when I try to download it just gives me a series of "Couldn't download" messages, occasionally spending some time trying to connect before telling me to forget it. This is very frustrating. I was considering purchasing the Pro version to get rid of the ads, but there is no way that I would do that until this thing is working. Does anyone know of a good alternative file sharing system, or an alternate Limewire (I'm using OSX)

Fixed my own problem. I discovered while attempting to throw away my old incomplete file (in disgust) that I didn't have priviledges, it had been created when my wife was logged in, even though it was in my home documents folder (which we share). Logged in as her, turned the priviledges to group-read & write and voila! I feel kind of silly, but I am still getting used to how OSX/UNIX does things, so I can forgive myself.
