can't connect to limewire daap server
 

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to connect to limewire daap server listening locally on port 5214 but I haven't been able so far. why? limewire daap makes my limewire downloads appear in iTunes. How does it actually work? when I do this in terminal:

"netstat -an"

I see: "192.168.0.2.5214", actually I did think I would see: "*.5214" which stands for "listening"

I found this port number by doing:

"mDNS -L "MY_MUSIC" _daap._tcp local"

and then I did some telnet stuff like:

"telnet 192.168.0.2 5214" but connection was refused...

How can I actually reach limewire DAAP server via "telnet" or "nc" ???

Check your iTunes shared options in preferences. Both need to be ticked I think for a start. Also make sure that if your OSX firewall is turned on that iTunes is allowed to pass.
