Question Unable to run LimeWire Pro

I am using a Mac OS X. I can't get LimeWare Pro to start on my computer. I downloaded (and paid for it on the official site) it off the internet, and then an application appears on my computer saying to click if I want to download it, and that runs, and says it's installation is complete. it then goes back to the window asking me to download to begin installation. I have 2 icons on the destop - one that looks like a hard drive with a green circle on top, labels LimeWire; the other is labeled LimeWireOSX.dmg. If I click on the hard drive icon showing LimeWire, or the icon showing LimeWireOSX.dmg, it just takes me back to the page to download. I have done this at least 15 times, thinking one of them would work, or maybe I can find something else I am suppose to do. The program does not show up in the computer at all, except for those 2 icons. I owuld really appreciate assistance.

k one is a disk image compacted (the dmg), the other is the mounted disk image with the installer inside. Ignore both of those for now. On the menu bar, use the Go menu & choose Applications & find LimeWire folder. Open that folder, the LW program will be inside. Drag & drop it into the dock. Remove the other LW files from desktop. Make a back up of the dmg. Now when you wish to open LW you simply click on the LW icon in the dock.

BTW sorry for the very late reply.

LimeWire does not show up in Applications, or anywhere else. Only the icon on the desktop. This happened each time I tried to install it - it never shows up anywhere else except on the desktop. How can I get it to show up in Applications so I can make it work?

If you have installed it. Then use the find function. Command key F (F) to find where the LimeWire program is. In the search you can choose to search only applications.

I had already searched. The only thing that was found was the icons on the desk top. Nothing else. However, I again completely deleted the whole thing, and downloaded the program from the beginning again (which I had done numerous times before) and it worked this time. It still doesn't show under Applications, I still have to search for it to be able to open it, but I can now use it. So I have no idea what has been going on with it but I have it working as of yesterday. Thanks for your input, I appreciate it.
