Help! Can search but everything says 'Need more sources'!

Hi there! Just wondering if anyone can help me?

I just bought a Mac pro and am running OSX 10.4.10
I then bought Limewire Pro 4.14.8 and it was working fine. Then for an unrelated reason i shut down my computer and since then i cant download anything. Its on 'Turbo cgarged connection' and i can search for stuff but just cant download, Everything says 'Need more sources'.

I tried following the advice of 'Lord of the rings' (thanks for that!) from previous posts but the only option i have available to me in 'tools' is 'Advanced' and then 'Statsitics'.

I did click in the pop ups 'revert to default', and then i hit 'ok'. Should i have clicked 'restore Defaults' instead?

Many thanks for your help in advance! : )

tools option is for windows or OS 9. For OSX it's in your preferences, under the LW name at top of menu bar next to apple icon. (Keyboard shortcut = ,)

Try deleting your LW prefs folder whilst LW is closed, found here:
/Users/your_username/Library/Preferences/LimeWire

Sorry Lord of the rings but now i forgot the original advice and i cant seem to locate the post - what did i need to do in Preferences again? I tried the advice you just gave me but that doesnt seem to work. Once again many thankyous! : )

Once again thanks for your quick response LOR. I tried everything you suggested however still doing the same thing: says 'need more sources' for everything.

Strange because initially i was able to download with no problems!
Is there anything else i can do?
Thanks : )

Same problem here.

I have always been able to download...and now...just within the past few days...no matter how many hosts are available per file...it will try all the hosts...then finally display "need more sources". This shouldn't be happening, especially with many hosts hosting the file. I use pro...on xp. Needless to say...I'm beginning to get very aggrivated!:bangh:

It will behave like that if they are fakes, or else, it can't get a good / available connection by one of those hosting the file. Thing is even if the hosts are showed as having the file, they may have all upload slots filled. If it's a video file, I'd recommend doing a Bitzi Web Lookup to check that it is a valid file. If it's a video file & it's not listed there, then that gives greater chance it's a fake file.

It happens with every file that i try, and ive tried over 20 different files, all songs. Lord of the RIngs Can you please run through what i should do again, or if there is anything else i can try? Dont understand why i cant download now when i could before : ( Thanks again : )
