limewire cant connect with leopard heyy i have MacBook Intel Core 2 Duo. ive just intalled leopard and now limewire does not connect theres the firewall icon but i already turned off the firewall in my mac ive already read all the threads with no success please help!! |
How are you connected; i.e.: T1 line, DSL, Cable modem, etc.? Also, are you using a router? -You may have to 're-set' them. After opening the Limewire application you still have to manually 'connect' from the 'File menu' on top of your screen (upper left). 'Limewire' pretty much configures itself by opening port 6346 . Sometimes even a simple 'restart' takes care of the problem. |
mmm done all that, still doesnt connect its not the router cause i used to connect until i installed the leopard.. any more suggestions? it must be something with the firewall right? |
I installed 'Leopard' also and had no problems with 'Limewire' connecting. You stated that you 'turned off' your 'Firewall' (under 'System Preferences > Security')? Did you set the 'Firewall' to 'allow all incoming connections'? Is your Internet Service Provider blocking you? Some ISPs have started this practice to prevent users from 'hogging' all the bandwidth (e.g.: Comcast). Also, if you have not done so already, try locating the 'Limewire' preference file in the home account 'Library' folder and delete it. Then re-install the latest version of 'Limewire'. You are using the 'Pro' version, right? |
