Downloading files keep losing its percentage

I just upgraded LW to 4.16.2 Pro. Since than most of my downloading files while in progress, keep losing its percentage. At peak of 99% suddenly stopped and gradually decreasing to 75%!
Please, is there any wizards who knows how to stop to this sucking up %age problem?

OSX 10.4.11
Memory 1.12 GB SDRAM
Java 1.5.0-13
Broadband connection
Router ADSL BIPAC 51125
