leopard, 10.5.2 - whenever I start limewire it opens then shuts down after 5 secs ???

I just bought my new iMac, I'm running the latest version of leopard, 10.5.2 and whenever I try to start limewire it opens then shuts down after about 5 seconds, is there any way that this problem can be solved, also I only have the basic version of Limewire. thanks for any help anyone can give.
