Go run software update... Get the updated Java! It'll make LimeWire alot more usable. |
I totally agree. Anand |
I updated to LimeWire beta and I noticed a definite improvement. When I updated the OS, I didn't notice any such thing... I thing the credit here goes to the lime wire developers... Leibowitzn |

Thanks, Dan |
You probably need to install it yourself. You cannot have someone else's name install it and expect it to work for you. |
Limewire Update 2.4.3??? Everytime I log on now I get this update message that says there is a newer version to download (2.4.3) but it doesn't give me a link to the upgrade and I can't find any upgrades in the website. Does anyone know what where I could find Update 2.4.3??? |
2.4.4 I can't get to the update page when I hit yes!!!!!! |
2.4.4 Thanks, but, actually, I don't have the pro service, just the basic. Is there anywhere else I can get the update? I would appreciate it. |
Problems sharing with the update I just updated to LimeWirePro 2.5.5 from 2.5.4 for OSX. The updated version is having trouble posting all of my shared folders. My mp3 and music video folders are on a slave hard drive, and the update is not posting these folders for sharing. It accepts the paths in Preferences but doesn't show them in the Library. Does anyone know why this might be? |
It sounds like your FAT is all globbery... :p Of course, you'd better not have any, because if you have any sense at all, you'll use a hierarchy. On other hand, if you enjoy using *nix, perhaps you'd prefer to format your drive as UFS, but most macs are positively hierarchical. The newer ones, anyway. The older ones are just regularly hierarchical. |
I was, and still am, having problems with Limewire. I tried to run software updater, but i only had a security update -- nothing with java... also, whats up with all the dropped messages? About 10-15 % of all my messages are dropped, is this abnormally high? Anybody have any ideas or suggestions? Thanks!!!! |
Complete newbie here. What do you mean by the updated Java and where do I get it? Thanks for your help. |
Limewire screwing with us? Is this Limewire trying to get us to upgrade? I have no problem with them trying to get me to upgrade but this is not a very smart way to do it - maybe you could limit my upload for old or unregistered versions? But if you purposely cripple your own software - how do I know if your software is just badly written or if you've crippled it? How does an end user know? I don't. I just think there's omething wrong with Limewire and it's time to move onto another program - hasta Limewire. good try but you broke it. Very smart! |
Use Accusition Having problems with LimeWire Use Accustion it is much better you need jag tho. http://www.xlife.org/ by far the best mac client. peace munchables |
gnutella problem in general why limewire doesnt connect, it does at home on my cable modem, but not at school on our supposedly great t3 line |
your school like my work place probably has a fire wall that is preventing certain connection types (i don't know the lingo though) |
ok, now how in the whole world do i whatch video's? i keep trying but it wont work? also, my friend has a updated limewire version where you can burn music, how do i get it?, he says its free? |
if you're on OSX, the free vlc plays more formats than anything else I've found (you might have to use its File->Open rather than drag-n-drop or doubleclick, though). Here's the link: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ I can't understand why you can't find the Limewire home page if you found this site. Oh well, here's a link http://www.limewire.com/index.jsp/download (Once you get to that page, there's a button to try the new beta version too. Actually, it's still being called an alpha because of so many great changes--but caution: alphas are risky!) I've never seen a "Burn" feature in LimeWire, but iTunes' burn button works great. |
Limewire does not yet use the new Java I dont believe LimeWire uses the new Java libraries yet. When you install the OS X Java update it leaves the old version of Java for applications that have not yet be recoded to work with the new Java. |
terminally qeued downloads Since updating to OSX 10.3.2, I've been unable to download any files successfully in limewire. Searches are successful, but when i download the file, its status remains qeued continually. I am running the classic version of limewire because i have found the OSX version to be incompatible with my computer - the icon bobs in the dock and then settles down again without opening. If anyone can offer any help, it'd be appreciated. thanks |
