Limewire crash attached console report

Can anyone help me please. I am running Limewire Pro 4.18 Every time I start limewire about 5 seconds in it crashes. I have made sure I have done all software updates and I also tried to set java to 6 and restart and still this happens. Thanks in advance

Console give me this

Just an experiment if I may:

1. Set Java to 1.5 ___ Java preferences for Leopard ___ (the order I have it set at seems to work, but may require some experimentation for yourself.)

2. Delete your LW prefs folder; Deleting LW Preferences folder in OSX

3. Set up a new account & see if same problem occurs; Setting up a Test Account in OSX (click on link)

Well the first two options didnt do anything. But when I created a new account it seemed to work fine. So what do I do now knowing the second account worked fine?

I'd like to get Stief's opinion here. But you can in meantime always have both accounts running simultaneously. I often have several accounts running at same time. Since it's easy to swap between accounts at any time.

Have you tried a SAFE Boot & Repair Permissions?

(I must admit my 4.18 refused to run at all (nothing happened when program clicked) & stepped back to 4.16. I need to try again to find what can fix the problem for me, the normal things I'd try didn't have any effect at all. Though I didn't try another account or java settings or a couple other things.)

Honestly I wouldnt care about going back to 4.16 if that means it will run good

Hi guys

Thanks for the info about the new account situation: that means some preference in the Home account is the culprit.

LW cleaned up some OS X / Java code a few weeks ago, so this might be related.

I'll see if I can find someone who might be able to pinpoint the offending preference file.

btw--are you both running Intel Macs?

cheers

Yeah I am running a 2.8 core duo.

Likewise, MacPro 3.2Ghz 8 Core, 16 GB RAM here as described in my profile.

Do any of the workarounds on this page help? bugzilla.processing: Bug 786 - Slow response or long spinning wheel when entering File, Sketchbook, or Examples menus on Mac OS X (0136+)

(to see if modifying the plist may make a difference)

4.18.3 is still dead for me. Nothing happens when I double click it.
Tried the two Info.plist suggestions, changing to each java, different account, repaired permissions.

LW 4.16.6 works fine after removing the previous update & reinstalling the older. If it's an Apple Java issue, then why does the older version work.
