touch: any risk using 'touch' on LW?

Noticed in the Apple java lists Re: Java Apps & Spaces that using 'touch' in the terminal can fix some occasional OS X launch problems. So, before I try or suggest others try, is there anything wrong with suggesting users try Terminal" "touch /Applications/LimeWire/LimeWire.app/"?
