Default Can't Play MP3s

I am using Limewire 4.18.3 that was installed onto my Mac (operating OS X 10.5.4). It seems to download audio files fine, but I can't play any of them. It won't launch on the LimeWire player, or play in iTunes or QuickTime although they seem to have downloaded fine and read as large mp3 files.

I tried locating the download file in different locations, uninstalling and reinstalling Limewire, and restarting computer. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Fakes or viruses most likely. When downloading music, make sure it shows a bitrate, else it's probably not a true music file. http://www.gnutellaforums.com/324126-post20.html
