Which version of LW did you try to install?
Is it LW 4.18 or LW 5?
LW 4.18 requires Java 5 (1.5) so you need to make sure that's near the top in your Java preferences, found in your Utilities folder.

So basically if we're using 10.4.11 we can't use version 5.0

Since I've already installed 5.0 I'm screwed. (I think the reason I went to Tiger in the first place a few years ago was so I could get Limewire to work. I'm not upgrading OS's again for that.)

So can we still download the previous version? (even though it was only working "so-so" ??

Thanks for reply. The version I have reinstalled is 4.18.8 (the one compatible with OS 10.4.11). It still doesn't work. I think it has to do with preferences setting. Do you know how to restore that?

I wouldn't cry too much about missing out on the new version. There's been many complaints because LW left out many tools. And navigating can be confusing for users. Which version of LW were you running before you updated to 4.18.8? On my system, I cannot get LW 4.18 or 5 to run. However I was able to get them to run on a different OSX installation on a different drive. So you'd think the answer would be reinstalling OSX, however I've done that. Not a reformat install however.

I presently use LW 4.16 on one OSX & 5 on the other.

Have you ever been able to run 4.18.x?

I don't remember which version of LW I had running before. I will try to download 4.16.

Does any one know where can I download LW 4.16 for mac? Versions 4.18 and 5 don't work for me. 4.16 is not available for download on LW site.
