Default 2.2.3 on brand new G4

Okay, I finally got my dream and received my Dual 1000 G4/1.5gbram last week. Running 10.1.3 along with all the updates up to this point.

I have used (struggled) with Limewire for months and decided to reward them with a Limewire Pro purchase. Installed the software, and the first time I fired it up, got connected and executed a search. So far so good, but it's late so I quit the program and head to bed.

Next day, I fire it up, the red light turns green, says I'm sharing 1300+ files.

Click cursor into the text window for the search, get a little color wheel spinning for the next 10 minutes. Hmm... force quit. Fire it up again. Same thing. Okay... toss all the files and reinstall the program. Same thing.

Okay, toss all the files, download a new installer, reinstall, same exact thing again.

Any help would be appreciated.

OS x places a "shared folder" automatically in your users folder, limewire likes to place its "shared folder" in users folder>"home folder (your name)>Shared. If the mac "shared" folder gets placed in your home folder it can conflict with limewires shared folder. Take a look at both folders for your download content.

Also, reinstalling won't necessarily remove corrupt preference files, which could result in the same behavior when you start up the reinstalled version of limewire.

Look in your ~/Library/Preferences folder for two "com.limewire.something.plist" files. Delete those and then reinstall. Also remove any Downloads.dat or other "preference-like" files that are found in your shared folders.

Hope this helps....
