Question search for title runs and replies with already downloaded checkmark?

When I search <artists> Search results are displayed as usual. When one picks a song to download a <folder> appears on the left in the <Quality> column. (normal functions). And when its done loading the <folder> turns to a <check mark>. (normal functions again). But most of the time when I search and the search is displayed always one of the songs has a <check mark> and I have not clicked it or any other songs for download yet. I beleive I have a <bug>. This is a brand new macbook my first computer!
I have been using mozzila firefox.

Sounds like your mac's LW is behaving normally: the green check mark also indicates that a file of the same name (or hash) already exists in your download folder or Library.

many "spam" files use the same file but with very different names. Perhaps you have one of those, and so it will be recognized in your shares no matter what search term you use.

I wouldn't (I want spam identified).

Otherwise, look for that size file in your Library, and remove the likely ones . . . hard to say which one it is.

I dont know which ones they are. If i find anouther <checkmark> when i search can i look at the file size and attempt to match it with files of the same size? I have down loaded spam im sure. I cant tell wich one all my songs play. Is this spam imbeded in the music?

If you really want to find which file(s) are involved, download a new "checked" file, then use use the "explore" button to go to the folder that contains the file. Then you can use Spotlight (upper right corner of your mac screen) to search for all files of that type and size.

The spam files may play in part -- I'm not sure how spam music files work. Spam images are usually ads.

I have tried what you have suggested. I was unable to match files exactly. But what I did was to go in to my I tunes were all music files go and look for any small files like 38.5 kb and trash them. I was not able to use spotlight as I should to it potential seeing as I dont think I know how. I have the concept though. the file i found with the <checkmark> during the search said that if i was to down load it it would replace an existing file different name and i said ok. the file didnt download all the way and went incomplete. I then used <explore> it pulled up a few files like 3 others i high lighted them and coppied to spot light and nothing profound happened. So I deleted them in the explore mode. ??????

thanks for all the time u have spent.........
