![]() I installed Divx 5.0 alphaMac assuming that I would be able to watch avi's. I kinda works, but not with all files, and I can't figure out how to distinguish between the ones that will work and the others. I have heard that a software giant that shall remain naMeleSs has come up with (surprise) a proprietary version of divx that works fine with their own OS, but not with any other. Is this true? If so, how do i separate the bogus avi's from the real ones? |

![]() Well it "Nameless giant" is Intel It's there Indeo codec. There's no OS X Indeo Codec so I think your outta luck. And there's no way of tell in them apart. (You can't use the AIM client if you have the DiVX 5 codec installed BTW) |

![]() King Bob, What's this about not being able to use AIM and the DivX codec? I've just installed DivX 5 on my ibook (still running OSX only - no Jaguar!) and the AIM client works fine. Why you'd want to use it is, of course, another question entirely... |
