For some reason I cannot run 4.18 or 5 on my system either so I use LW 4.16 which is a little buggy once in a while but otherwise works well. ;) Looks like a similar scenario.
I use LW 5 on a different OSX installation.

hi cyberkitten :)
Did you get the situation solved? http://www.gnutellaforums.com/downlo...downloads.html & use this connection cache file called gnutella.net to place into your LW preferences folder whilst the program is closed to help you get connected; http://www.gnutellaforums.com/343558-post10.html

LW preferences folder is found at: OSX -> Users -> Library -> Preferences -> Limewire

So, I tried downloading the "classic" version. It wouldn't even open. So, I got LW 4.12 from a friend and it will load but will not connect. I had LW before and never had a problem, this sux. What can I do? Is there another file share program for Mac OS X other than LW? I'm very frustrated. Please "Lord of the Lime Wire" help a kitty out.

You could use Acqlite but I find Limewire much better even tho' many report connection problems.
