Got the entire movie downloaded I believe, but its only showing the first 20 minutes. I saw more was there when I was previewing it! Now that the entire file is completely downloaded, I'm only seeing the beginning. It doesn't cut out, the marker travels all the way to the end, but its only the beginning..

What format was the movie & what's the size of the movie (in MB)?

Which player are you using? Try playing it with VLC player & see whether the whole thing plays. VLC's free & there's a link for downoading it here: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/tips-t...p3-fixers.html

Did you check the file with Bitzi before download?

If other users have rated the file then you'll get some idea of whether it's any good

Yes typical for Quicktime to behave like that for many videos. VLC will play such files. I also keep MPlayer on hand since it is similar to VLC but can do the odd thing VLC cannot.

I finally dumped WMP!
I used it for years, added CODECs, dealt with it's tempermental behavior, let it burn a few useless CDs, and wondered what it was communicating to MicroSoft. (I know some of you are laughing at me for being so slow, but I used DOS until 1996, and I still hate Windows.)

Enter VLC. My girlfriend wanted a movie that was available only in MKV format, and VLC was the only player I found that could handle it. I discovered VLC also allows variable speed play for video with audio. Much of what I watch is for information, and now I can speed-watch and not miss anything while saving a lot of time. (If WMP can do this, please don't tell me.)

And VLC uses fewer resources than WMP and Quicktime.

VLC is also a more security wise program (as you hinted). It will not attempt to send you to some bogus scam or virus or spy site because the file has some DRM html link hidden inside, unlike both WMP & QuickTime players. AFAIK VLC has had MKV playback abilities for 4+ years (I remember a fellow moderator pointing that point out to me back then.)
