![]() I have an iMac , running 10.5.6. When I download Limewire 5.1.2, I get a message saying that the software will NOT operate because it requires Java 1.6 and needs a 64 bit,(whatever that is). I am not a Rocket Scientist and these things are way over my head..I HAVE updated every bit of software for my desktop when Apple send them, is there something that I'm not doing right. My system is nearly 2 years old. Please help. I am a Disabled Military veteran from Australia and my computer (& TV) are my only source of entertainment. It is an Intel. ![]() Sounds like your computer is not compatible with LW 5. But believe me, you are not missing a thing. LW 5 is missing many tools from LW 4, is buggy & many people including new users have been downgrading to LW 4. ![]() ![]() |

![]() I have MAC OS X 10.4.11 and when I went to download the 'older' installer for Limewire, it did not allow me to - it always went back to 5.1.2....and continued to give me that 'need upgraded OS X or Java'. What other suggestions do you have? Thanks. |

![]() You need to click on the Old Versions link on right-hand side. This post has a sample image: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/mac-os...0-5-later.html ![]() If you already installed LW 5 by mistake, drag the program to trash. Then go to OSX -> Library -> Receipts folder, view it in list mode & scroll down to i & look for install limewire.pkg file & drag it to the trash also. Then install LW 4. ![]() (the newer install limewire.pkg file would prevent you installing LW 4 otherwise.) ![]() |
