LW5.1.3 for Leopard Intel invokes Classic Hi everyone, I just downloaded and successfully installed the free Basic LW 5.1.3 for Mac OSX 10.5 Leopard on Intel which is what I run. When I attempt to launch the app, I get a message saying: "You can't open the application "LimeWire.app" because the Classic environment is no longer supported." !! My system is a new iMac 7.1 Intel Core 2 Duo with 2 GB RAM & 23 GB of HD available. Never had Classic or an earlier version of OSX anywhere near it! Can anyone help with this please? Dianne |
What version of Leopard are you running? To find this out, go to the Apple Logo icon on the top left of your screen, and go to "About This Mac". You will see Mac OS X, and Version underneath. |
Are you sure you downloaded the LW 5 version & not the classic version? I am aware iTool has an option for Resetting Launch Services which may or may not help your scenario. Go to your Go menu & choose Utilities folder. Open the Java folder. Open Java prefs, see if Java 1.6 (Java SE6) is listed. Setting up Java for Leopard (see 2nd image) If Java SE 6 is not listed then your computer is not compatible with Java 1.6/LW 5. In that case see http://www.gnutellaforums.com/mac-os...ck-lw-4-a.html |
