same problem

I had the same problem, repaired permissions and installed 5.2.2 Beta and it seems to have done the trick.

I have Limewire Pro 5.1.3 and am having the same problem after installing the Java Update 4 for OS X 10.5. Now the program will not launch at all.

Is there a patch that is coming out to resolve this problem? I guess I would be willing to try the 5.2.2 beta and see if that works (does it work with the Pro version?), but I'm not clear on what repairing permissions is all about (I am new to Mac, having been a Windows user for many years).

I would appreciate any help from those of you experts out there who have any ideas. I guess I will need to have step-by-step instructions since I am essentially clueless at this point.

Thanks.

Check this post http://www.gnutellaforums.com/genera...5-mac-osx.html. The recent Java update has caused issues for a few people. Reinstalling Java using the Standalone installer should fix the problem. :)

Fix doesn't work for me

Well, I tried what you suggested and Limewire still doesn't run when I click on the icon.

I'm running Version 5.1.3 Pro. Will the beta version downgrade me or will it just run a pro version of the beta? I'm not usually keen on beta programs, but I guess I don't have a choice right now, unless I can go back to the previous version of Java.

Thanks for all your help!

The beta 5.2.2 (lastest version of 'any' release) seems very stable ... it's worth trying. The Beta has solved the issue for others. What's more has extra functions you will be impressed with.

If you are a Pro user, you can find the PRO Beta version on a link on right side of page.

Where is the page to download the Pro beta version?

LOR:

Sorry to be so dense, but how do i get to the page to download the latest beta for Limewire Pro? Do you have a link? The screen shot you included is tempting but I couldn't click on a link. I did a google search and got the general beta download page, but my only options on the right side were to buy the pro program again and I already own it and my support is paid through October. I don't want to install the regular program on top of my pro version.

Thanks again for any help and sorry to be so dense on this. As you can tell, I am clueless.

Well, I guess I lost some of my old bookmarks when I switched browsers, but I have done that now.

Thanks for everything, including the link to retrieve my download page using my email address. I did have the purchase confirmation email saved, but didn't think to go there to do the download -- d'oh!

Oh yes, beta works great with the new Java update! Yay!
