LW 4.18.8 Pro/Snow Leopard connection issues I purchased a new Mini with Snow Leopard. I migrated LW 4.18.8 Pro over to my new machine but cannot connect to the network. I've set my Firewall to accept LW and tried most of the other suggestions found in the forum but still cannot connect. It just sits on 'starting connection' and never connects. Any suggestions? I'd upgrade but I don't particularly like the LW 5 GUI. Am I doomed? |

With LW 4.18 you will most likely need fresh gnutella.net file. Also try other suggestions here: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/connec...t-connect.html BTW if you still have the older computer & LW in use, I'd suggest you set LW 4.18 to use a different listening port in advanced -> firewalls settings. Reason for this is clash of ports for the router to handle. A router will reserve a listening port for each. Likewise you could try changing connection port also. |

I'm in exactly the same boat. Just updated my Imac to Snow Leopard & find 4.18.8 won't connect too. And I hate the new Limewire 5, which is why I too stuck to 4.18.8. I tried replacing the gnutella.net file and that seems to have fixed it, thanks Lord of the Rings! Hope you got the problem sorted douglashh? ..... EDIT: spoke too soon. That got it connected, but it seems Snow Leopard has caused more probs than just connecting. Time to go search for answers ............. Last edited by Jlondon; December 1st, 2009 at 10:46 AM. |
