Posts that cannot be edited to comply with the House Rules will be deleted. Restrict members. This is one of the last punishments before a member is banned. Restrictions may include placing all new posts in a moderation queue or temporarily banning the offender. Ban members. The most severe punishment. Three or more moderators or administrators must agree to the ban for this action to occur. Banning is reserved for very severe offenses and members who, after many warnings, fail to comply with the House Rules. Banning is permanent. Bans cannot be removed by the moderators and probably won't be removed by the administration. The Rules 1. Warez, copyright violation, or any other illegal activity may NOT be linked or expressed in any form. Topics discussing techniques for violating these laws and messages containing locations of web sites or other servers hosting illegal content will be silently removed. Multiple offenses will result in consequences. File names are not required to discuss your issues. If filenames are copyright then do not belong on these forums & will be edited out or post removed. If your post is placed in the wrong forum it will be moved by a moderator. There are specific Gnutella Client sections for LimeWire, Phex, FrostWire, BearShare, Gnucleus, Morpheus, and many more. Please choose the correct section for your problem. 7. If you see a post in the wrong forum or in violation of the House Rules, please contact a moderator via Private Message or the "Report this post to a moderator" link at the bottom of every post. Please do not respond directly to the member - a moderator will do what is required. 8. Any impersonation of a forum member in any mode of communication is strictly prohibited and will result in banning. 9. Multiple copies of the same post will not be tolerated. Post your question, comment, or complaint only once. There is no need to express yourself more than once. Duplicate posts will be deleted with little or no warning. Keep in mind a forum censor may temporarily automatically hold up your post, if you do not see your post, do not post again, it will be dealt with by a moderator within a reasonable time. Authors of multiple copies of same post may be dealt with by moderators within their discrete judgment at the time which may result in warning or infraction points, depending on severity as adjudged by the moderators online. 10. Posts should have descriptive topics. Vague titles such as "Help!", "Why?", and the like may not get enough attention to the contents. 11. Do not divulge anyone's personal information in the forum, not even your own. This includes e-mail addresses, IP addresses, age, house address, and any other distinguishing information. Don´t use eMail addresses in your nick. Reiterating, do not post your email address in posts. This is for your own protection. 12. Video link posting with less than a 2 post tally are considered as spam. Video link posting with less than a 2 post tally are considered as spam. 15. Failure to show that you have read the forum rules may result in forum rules breach infraction points or warnings awarded against you which may later total up to an automatic temporary or permanent ban. Supplying system details is a prerequisite in most cases, particularly with connection or installation issues. Violation of any of these rules will bring consequences, determined on a case-by-case basis. Thank You! Thanks for taking the time to read these forum guidelines. First of all, I'm a Windows user... there's no Mac user around at the moment. If this info is wrong for you then I'm sorry... wait until LOTR is back from holidays. But as far as I know you should be able to add your whole iTunes music library to LW's Public Shared list if you add the whole folder. iTunes: If you select iTunes > Preferences > click Advanced... you'll see the location of your iTunes music. LW: click on Public Shared. Click on Add Files. Browse for your iTunes music folder. Click on that folder (so that it shows in the 'File Name' text field). Now click on Add Files. A dialog box should pop up, asking you whether you want to share iTunes Music with the world... click 'Share'. Now the whole folder should be added to Public Shared. Just tested this on Windows & it worked, so hopefully the same for Mac. *Simply dragging the iTunes Music folder into Public Shared didn't work for me, which is why I've given you the instructions above. You can try dragging the folder - maybe it will work for you* Just remember that if you want to add a whole folder - simply click on the folder that you want to add (rather than opening the folder) & then click Add Files. It doesn't seems to work. Clicking on Add Files in Public Shared doesn't let me choose the iTunes Music folder. Open button still greyish, it's only become active inside the folder where I am able to select the Singers Music folders one by one only. I also try, like you, drop iTunes Music folder onto Public shared folder. It didn't work either with me |

I'm using LW 5.3.6 on Leopard 10.5. (1) If I drag & drop the iTunes Music folder onto the Shared icon at left side of LW's window, all the files are added to the library & shared. (2) If I drag & drop the artist folder onto the Shared icon, all those files are shared. (3) If I drag & drop an album folder onto the Shared icon, all those files are shared. (4) If I drag & drop selected song files from an album (selecting using the either the command or shift key), then those files are added to library & shared. With the Mac version 5.3 you cannot add a folder to shared via the Add to Library option under file menu. This option is only for adding individual files one at a time. If using LW 5.4 you can add multiple files & folders to Library (but not shared) from the Add to Library File menu option. As Birdy suggested, you need to first set how you wish file types to be added; 1. automatically add particular or all file types, or 2. a pop-up window asking which file types within the folder you are adding should also be included so you can customise which of audio/video/doc's, etc. types are included at the time. In the example below, option A is manually deciding which types of files each time you add a folder to LW. The pop-up window will then appear after you have dropped the folder onto the Public Shared icon on LW as in the example image above. You will not see this pop-up window if you choose option B in LW's preference settings. Make sure Audio option is checked! Last edited by Lord of the Rings; December 12th, 2009 at 09:15 AM. Reason: Corrected Mac only issue with LW 5.3 not being able to add multiple files via Add to Library from File menu. |

No not LW 5.3.6, they fixed the issue with the file menu Add to Library with the first LW 5.4 beta for the OSX LW. That adds the files/folders to Library but they are not automatically shared. If you wish to try the beta, go to your personal Pro download page & find the link to the Pro beta version, else go to LimeWire 5.4.4 (Beta) - Lime Wire for the Mac Beta Basic version. But still you should be able to drag & drop folders onto the Public Shared icon using LW 5.3.2 or 5.3.6 on Mac. This way the files are automatically shared. See the changes made in each version here http://wiki.limewire.org/index.php?title=Changelog Specifically the changes made in LW 5.4 to fix the issue were: . Allow you to add folders to the Library or lists. . Add an OS X style dialog so you can select multiple files and folders at once. Last edited by Lord of the Rings; December 13th, 2009 at 11:00 PM. Ok. Thank you for the help. I try now LW 5.4.3 (no beta). It allow me to add my iTunes library indeed but as you said too, the librairy is not Shared. I didn't find any option to shared the content of this new library. Fortunatly, it has accepted the Drag& Drop. Don't be too impatient because if you have a huge librairy, it can take some time before the content will be copy into the Public Shared folder... Thanks again Lord of the Ring... |
