Mac Pro and limewire pro 5.4.6 connection problem...after Doing Test =( Hello everyone i My name is SidtheKid and unfortunately im having trouble connecting..as Cliche as that may sound..I just bought the 13.95 version so that doesnt get me any help and like an idiot i bought it thinking that just because the free version didnt work that the paid verson would...I am currently running the limewire pro 5.4.6 on leopard 10.5.8. Its a mac pro desk top dual core intel xeon 2 x 2.66 w/ 1 gig of ram. The modem i use is the motorola SBG900(Not and ADSL) wireless surfboard gateway. I assume its cable internet i have because i have it from cox =) The java im using is 1.6.0_17. ok..Not to the Symptoms... However when i went to "Tools" then "advanced tools" in the menu bar my connection page is blank and i have no host...My port says a number of 6436. And it wont even let me add anything in the host area so i cant add a connection... here is some info that maybe important. Firewall im unsure if i have one...i tried to see but to no avail..i added limewrie 130 gig spaces left on CPU Conecting from my house Did the simple test and it worked Roomates also share the Motorola connection with me This is my first limes And there is no bricks with any color in the left hand corner of my limewire..they are all grey =( Thanks in advance to all that may help me. thanks sid |
From what I can see you may need to port forward your router device. Viewing Motorola SBG900 - recommend? - dslreports.com and also SURFboard SBG900 - Motorola it appears there is no UPnP support however I'm not sure about present models. If port forwarding. Always very first step is setting up a static ip address Setting up a Static ip address on OSX. Then Port Forwarding Limewire on the Motorola SBG 900 however the LW 5 equivalent settings are here: Manual port forward instructions & sample image.
