Clicking the "x" to close LimeWire window should not shut down the app. Is there even a Mac team at LimeWire?

Jesus Christ! Why on earth would you want the app to stay open when you click the x button?!?!
I´m constantly annoyed because SysPref doesn’n do this!

All apps in OS X don't close when you click the big red button. It's quicker to keep it open then if you want it again go and open a new window. And when they have no windows open they don't take much CPU power or RAM. If you want to quit the App there's plenty of ways. Apple-Q. File>Quit

i maybe missing the point, but there is a pref. that alows you to shutdow or not after hitting the red.

personally, i woud like apple to put the red on the other side, as i have often closed when i really wanted to minimize.

Some other apps behave this way.  Help Viewer, for example.  So there's precedent for LimeWire to behave this way; it makes perfect sense in my opinion.  If you don't like the window taking up screen space you can always minimise it.

If you're going to put it that way: There's precedent for only closing the window when you hit the window close, not the entire app. "It makes perfect sense in my opinion." Why would the entire app quit when I just want to close a single window? Most of the time, I don't want Limewire taking up my screen real estate (and the occasional Java bugs that Apple has with other apps' windows being on top of java apps' windows), and I really don't want it in the dock, either. I don't like clutter, and I don't want some background app taking up dock space. Unless there's a way to indefinitely share files without downloading and without taking up dock or screen space.

My preference would be to close just the window with the little X. I realize there's precedence either way, but, gidds, you can't marginalize my preference by guessing why and suggesting a bad alternative as justification.

this is a lot of haberdashery

1) Macintosh programs are not supposed to quit upon clicking the X.
2) any users who think it should are ignorant of common mac procedures
3) any previous precedents are themselves programs which lack strong mac developers
4) this should and probably will be fixed by the " mac team " at lime wire
5) these are common problems for mac users - get over it - put it in the dock!
