![]() Ok I wanted to share the 3,000 mp3s I have collected over the years, but one I had them all shared I found out that people couldn't connect to me anyway because of the router in my apartment. So there was no use in leaving my music folder in the shared section of limewire so I went to remove it. I couldn't figure out how to remove the file from the list so I looked in one of the menus and saw "Delete Folder." I thought it meant it would delete it from my list of shared folders, but nooo...it deleted it from my hard drive. All 250+ full albums I had on my computer. So...what's the best recommendation for file recovery? Anyone have a preference in software? Please help. Thanks. Ryan |

![]() Oh dear... Recovering the deleted files can be a bit difficult. I guess you can try Norton. For future referrences, I suggest (strongly) you don't use the Library window to delete your files. When you delete files there, they don't even stay in the trash can. They just vanish. You go to Tools>Optons>Sharing and highlight the folders which you don't want to share, and click "Remove". BTW, I'm on LW 2.1, but I don't think there's much difference from what you're using. Good luck, my friend. |

![]() I could scream, this very same thing JUST happened to me. I view this as a serious flaw in the program. The program should warn the user that your entire collection will be demolished if you delete a file. Never in my wildest dreams did I think it would actually delete from my hard drive. I am furious. I had over 1400 mpgs. Is there any hope of Norton actually saving any of them? marshagrant@lycos.com |

![]() Norton UnErase included with Norton Utilities may be able to recover some of them if they were deleted recently and you haven't added too many new files since the deletion. I suggest also trying Tech Tool Pro. And also use Norton File Saver in the future to make recovery very easy as you can completely resore a drive even after reformatting it (if File Saver is ran on the drive first). You can have it "update" at every restart or shutdown and always have a backup that can be recovered. |
