Mad Max is flying high
Unhappy User Interface doesn't appear

I'm running LimeWire 2.4.1 and OS 9.2.1 on a PowerBook G4. Everything was working flawlessly until a few days ago. Now when I launch LimeWire, the user interface doesn't appear and none of the LimeWire menu items appear in the menu bar. The Finder says LimeWire is running but there is no other indication that it is.

I uninstalled LimeWire, downloaded a new version and installed it but I'm still having the same problem.

I received the following error message and sent it to bugs@limewire.com but haven't received a reply.

LimeWire version 2.4.1
Java version 1.1.8 from Apple Computer, Inc.
Mac OS v. 9.2.2 on PowerPC
Free/total memory: 18518571/22560768

I'm really happy with LimeWire and am planning to upgrade to the Pro version, but only if I can get the program to work again. I'd greatly appreciate advice or suggestions from anyone who can help.

LimeWire has obviously trouble reading your downloads.dat. Did you delete that file, before reinstalling?

Thanks for the suggestion. I deleted download.dat, uninstalled LimeWire and reinstalled it and am still having the same problem. Any thoughts?

You could try reinstalling your MRJ, but that's about all that comes into my mind.

Default User Interface doesn't appear

Pardon my ignorance. What is an MRJ? I see several MRJ files and folders on my machine but I have no idea what they do. If I delete them, where can I find new ones to install?

Had similar issues. Try changing your colors to 256 (Control Panel/Monitors/ ) It seemed to help on my setup (PowerPC 7500, MacOS 9.1)
